General Packet Radio Service
GPRS means General Packet Radio Service. This is a technique that enables data communication in the GSM network. With GPRS, the information is sent in parts (packages) over the network. This makes it possible to easily exchange data communication via a mobile phone or a GPRS module.
The data rate of GPRS is a maximum of 52 Kb/s. The possible extension is EDGE 128 Kb/s. For higher data rates, the successor to GPRS, UMTS, is a better choice.
