A signalling system has been developed for Nedap, which is internationally active in, among other things, recognition systems, using infrared technology to detect customers entering the stores…
In this application, both the number of customers entering a store and the number of customers leaving the store are counted. This data is read centrally and the system allows trends in both intensity and visit times to be measured. This makes staff scheduling easier and benchmarks can easily be performed between different stores in the same shopping centre.

The end result
With the development of this customer counter, millions of people around the world are counted every day when entering stores. The system works standalone and does not require a PC and/or other interface. The collected data can be easily read via a web browser.
